Grovedale Neighbourhood House (GNH) welcomes people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities to participate in low-cost social, educational, recreational and support activities using a community development approach.

GNH is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and is auspiced by the City of Greater Geelong.

Under the auspice arrangement, the City of Greater Geelong:

  • Takes on the legal and financial responsibility of GNH.
  • Supports the program aims of the DFFH Neighbourhood House Coordination Program.
  • Supports and recognises the community-based GNH Steering Group.

The GNH Steering Group is made up of local volunteers providing guidance and input into strategic functions of the GNH.

GNH manages five spaces at the Grovedale Community Hub providing opportunities for community participation in activities that promote wellbeing, connection and learning. The GNH office at the Hub is open four days per week and is staffed by a Coordinator and Administration Officer.

Volunteer positions at GNH include:

  • Steering Group Member
  • Book Swap Support
  • Activity Facilitator

All GNH volunteers are registered with the City of Greater Geelong as the auspice agency.
